The so-called "gaming" devices in the world of computers are full: mice, keyboards, video cards, but what is there, even Fortune Clock sister sites the housings, having received a couple of extra bulbs, miraculously become "gaming". Not lucky only to monitors. To figure out how to turn the usual TN matrix into something special and necessary e-sportsmen, this is a talent, a vivid example of which is the new Benq XL2720T with a diagonal of 27 inches.
In appearance, it is difficult to recognize some Razer Mamba in the novelty. Instead of clumsy shapes, glossy inserts and bright colors – a strict rectangle of black matte plastic with laconic white logo. Only the stand that has received a red slot in the center and a removable hook for the headset at the very top hinted at the belonging to the game series.
Adjustments at the base. A mobile hinge is installed on the support column, which allows you to raise the panel by a good 14 cm, reject 20 degrees from yourself or expand vertically. And to those who are closer to the scheme “nailed to the wall and forgot”, it is allowed to unfasten the rack and use the standard VESA-strengthening.
Did not fail Benq and with connectors. If desired, the monitor can be literally hung with wires: in the presence of D-Sub (VGA), DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, Mini-USB-in, ordinary USB-in (hub), two common USB 2.0 and even a 3.5 mm access to acoustics or headphones. In short, not only a computer and console are connected here, but also a TV set in addition to a pair of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi-transmitters.
It is only annoying that all this will be to wallow: neither hooks nor hidden boxes for cables are provided. The only option is to stick the wires through the slot in the base and hope that no one will see them behind a huge panel.
Speaking of the size: those who are afraid to buy 27-inch models due to the fact that there is not enough space, let's say-they are not so big. No, of course, if you sat all a conscious life behind a belly 17-lush, then the novelty is just an unreal monster. But in comparison with the 24-inch XL2720t, it does not look a huge. Even in games, you don't notice extra centimeters immediately. However, the latter is not surprising. The installed TN matrix supports the standard 1920×1080 and gives useful information as much as its younger Full HD brothers.
But where the “bonus” inchs work out every invested ruble, is in 3D vision 2. With such dimensions, stereo effects are felt as expected. In particular, this applies to “flying” objects that are almost not visible in smaller diagonals.
Benq has several more surprises for players. The first will appeal to professional e -sportsmen. If you are going to show Kuzkin’s mother on WCG, you can train in conditions as close as possible to combat. After seeing what diagonals the monitors will be at the tournament, you can limit the XL2720T, for example, up to 24 or even 17 inches. The latter, by the way, will come in handy when the family has a person who cannot stand large matrices.
They also provided bonuses for those who saw all these visiting championships in the coffin. The settings are hidden FPS1, FPS2 and RTS profiles that actively use the built -in Black Equalizer function. All of them are imprisoned for removing dark zones from the screen. Roughly speaking, the display sends a color rendering to hell and abruptly overestimates brightness, not allowing cunning opponents to hide in the corners and aim you out of dark. A thing, I must say, sometimes really helps.
Another interesting technology – Smart Scaling – is aimed at those whose computer is weak for Full HD and pulls the games only, for example, in 1680×1050. The assistant will be able to get rid of the nasty "pixeliness". Of course, the image will "get away", but the extra FPS is worth it.
And finally, the last gift is the flaw frequency of 120 Hz. In the case when 3D Vision 2 is unnecessary, you can achieve real 120 frames per second from the screen, riding yourself even from theoretical lags. This is especially useful with a new series of GEFORCE 700 video cards, in which there is an overclocked V-Sync.
As for the quality of the image, do not wait for miracles from XL2720T. As we have already said, TN is installed here: it is 100%for games, but it is better not to use it for serious work. According to our measurements, the matrix is on red shades and loves yellow with green. This is not scary for home, but in professional printing, where ideal accuracy is required, no longer good.
But with what XL2720T is full order is with functioning in difficult conditions. The matrix is open, matte and with the declared brightness of 300 kD/m2. Translated into a normal tongue – when the sun shines through the window, on the screen you see the game, not your reflection.
Everything is fine with the settings. Benq was probably able to create the most convenient control system on our memory. Six touch buttons are installed in the lower right corner. One – nutrition, the rest – actions in the menu, but not banal “up/down/confirm”: the keys are set depending on the open section.
Another management option is a complete remote control to the Micro-USB monitor. On the Lazyka there is a wheel wheel wheel and three buttons for prompt switching profiles. The latter, by the way, is a very useful thing, noticeably facilitates the movement between settings sets.
Acquaintance with Benq XL2720T left only positive impressions. The display was really successful and favorably differs from rivals with a lot of unusual functions. And let the latter hardly be used often, it's still nice. The monitor did not fail with quality indicators. Although the TN matrix is not suitable for professional use and pumps with some shades, the image is still at a height, and the reserve is enough even for the most difficult conditions. And of course, we will not forget about the support of 3D vision 2 – at 27 inches it looks gorgeous.
In conclusion, let's go on the price. We do not know how the price tags are exhibited in BenQ, but against the backdrop of competitors they delight the eye. For the model considered, the manufacturer asks about 16,000 rubles. Direct analogues – ASUS VG278HE And Acer HN274H – cost 18,000 and 25,000 rubles.
Pros:
Great control system
Support 3D Vision 2
A good set of connectors
Convenient stand
Cons:
sample with some shades
